Society for Creative Anachronism...SCA.org will tell you all about it. International, non-profit organization to study and recreate through events, seminars, etc. the European middle ages. The founders of the SCA drew inspiration for much of their ceremony from Tolkien as much as from history, lol. It's become a lot more accurate and educational since then!
